It’s no secret that Trump has had issues with plagiarism in the past. His wife infamously stole some of her best lines at the RNC directly from Michelle Obama’s better version. One of Trump’s advisers had to step down after it turned out that much of her career had been built on wholesale theft of other people’s writing. And now this.
During Trump’s inauguration speech, the newly sworn in president promised to give power back to the people.
“…but we are transferring power from Washington, D.C., and giving it back to you, the people.”
Huh, that sounds a bit familiar? Where have we heard that before? Perhaps a former president or famous orator?
Nope. It was the villain in The Dark Knight Returns. Trump plagiarized Bane.
On the steps of Gotham’s city hall, Bane pledges to restore order to the city through violence and a redistribution of power away from government and law enforcement.
“We take Gotham from the corrupt… the oppressors who for generations have kept you down with myths of opportunity – and we give it back to you… the people.”
Wow, he even stole Bane’s hand gestures.
I’m starting to think Trump may be the bad guy in all of this…
