Yesterday evening on Air Force One, Donald Trump arrived back in Washington, DC. As usual, there were media and press correspondents waiting for him to exit the plane, but oddly it took a while. 40 minutes to be exact.
According to Mark Knoller, a CBS News White House Correspondent, Trump arrived around 8:40 PM, but didn’t leave the plane till 9:25 PM. What’s up with that? Did the divo need to prepare for his grand entrance into the White House?
Knoller detailed the wait in a series of tweets that evening. He says he received no true explanation when he asked officials about the wait.
“Asked why @POTUS on board so long, son-in-law & advisor Jared Kushner told press pool he was “working on something,” but didn’t elaborate.”
The president’s son in law, Jared Kushner, who seconds as his advisor, told the press that the delay was due to Trump ‘working in something’. A White House Official later revealed that the ‘something’ was a meeting. However, Knoller’s says the President finally got off the plane, he was still real quiet.
“Pres Trump lost no time stepping off Marine One on return to the WH, but didn’t respond when asked why the delay on Air Force One.”
According to Twitter, who wasted NO TIME getting to the bottom of the delay, rumor has it that the ‘meeting’ was actually Trump secretly watching (admiring) former President Barack Obama’s speech as he received the “Profile In Courage” award at the JFK Center in Boston.
Clearly, the President was watching to learn or copy a few things from his predecessor. Sorry, Trump, there is probably no ‘Profile in Courage’ award in your future, but it’s great that you can continue to admire the greatness that is Barack Obama.
