Just when you thought Donald Trump couldn’t put American lives in any more danger than he already has, he goes and does this. On Friday, he told law enforcement officers that he wants them to use as much violence as they can get away with when dealing with suspects.
When you see these thugs being thrown into the back of a paddywagon, you just see them thrown in, rough, I said, ‘Please don’t be too nice,” Trump Trump said while addressing a crowd of law enforcement officers and the families of crime victims.
“Like when you guys put somebody in the car and you’re protecting their head, you know, the way you put their hand over?” he continued. “Like, don’t hit their head and they’ve just killed somebody. Don’t hit their head? I said, ‘You can take the hand away, OK?’”
Go figure, the law enforcement officers in attendance cheered at Trump’s words.
Trump’s speech focused on the gang, MS-13, and his administration’s mission “to dismantle, decimate and eradicate MS-13.” Naturally, Trump connected the gang to lax immigration laws — because of course he did. Anything to further his agenda.
“They have transformed peaceful parks and beautiful, quiet neighborhoods into blood-stained killing fields,” he said. “We cannot tolerate as a society the spilling of innocent, young, wonderful, vibrant people — sons and daughters, even husbands and wives. We cannot accept this violence one day more.”
Trump has latched onto MS-13 as his latest reason why we simply must build a wall along our southern border and stop immigrants from coming into our country immediately. He told the crowd that his administration is working on a whole bunch of great new stuff and then asked lawmakers to provide him with funding to add 10,000 new federal immigration enforcement and removal officers, doubling the number we currently have.
