With his arms folded, Donald Trump issued a threat on Wednesday to the United Nations, saying that the U.S. could withhold foreign aid for countries that vote in favor of a (U.N.) resolution calling on the U.S. to withdraw its recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Trump is a spiteful man, and he’s taking names. US. Ambassador Nikki Haley also issued a similar threat yesterday.
The resolution is set to go before the U.N. General Assembly on Thursday and the Trump administration is turning the U.S. into a laughingstock as respect for our country rapidly declines. Trump once blasted the U.N. as just “a club for people to get together, talk, and have a good time.” The so-called president does not grasp what the U.N. is all about.
“I like the message that Nikki sent yesterday at the United Nations for all of these nations that take our money and then they vote against us at the Security Council, or they vote against us potentially at the assembly,” Trump said.
“They take hundreds of millions of dollars and even billions of dollars, and then they vote against us,” he continued. “Well, we’re watching those votes. Let them vote against us, we’ll save a lot. We don’t care.”
Arab members requested an emergency special session on Thursday to discuss Trump’s move to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. But to Trump, if he doesn’t get his way, he’s going to target the countries who dare to defy him.
Trump is out of his league and has no concept of how the world works. In January, during his speech at the U.N., Trump criticized socialism and appeared to expect a roaring applause from the audience. That didn’t happen. Instead, world leaders laughed at him, just as they’re probably laughing now. It would really help if Trump would stop threatening our allies.
