Serious issues that affect America seem to be too much for Donald Trump to handle. It’s like once he’s given the task to handle a something he instantly abandons it or makes a ‘rock, paper, scissor, shoot’ decision. He’s even been known to express that it’s just too tough.
Less than a week ago Trump was caught with his foot in his mouth once again over a foreign policy issue concerning the war in Afghanistan. NBC News reported that the President wants to hurry and end the war there. Yea, because it literally is just like an elimination process on ‘The Apprentice’. Poof! The war is gone, and all Trump had to say was ‘you’re fired’. No. It doesn’t work like that. But Trump thinks so, apparently.
According to NBC, during a meeting with his military leaders in July, at one point the president directed his frustration at Secretary Of Defense James Mattis, saying he had given the military authority months ago to make advances in Afghanistan and yet the U.S. was continuing to lose ground, the officials said.
And by now, we all should know that Trump is good for throwing out a completely left field comparison to help prove his point. As reported by NBC,
Trump told his advisers that the 1980’s restaurant, Manhattan’s elite ’21’ Club, had shut its doors for a year and hired an expensive consultant to craft a plan for a renovation. After a year, Trump said, the consultant’s only suggestion was that the restaurant needed a bigger kitchen.
Officials said Trump kept stressing the idea that lousy advice cost the owner a year of lost business and that talking to the restaurant’s waiters instead might have yielded a better result. He also said the tendency is to assume if someone isn’t a three-star general he doesn’t know what he’s talking about, and that in his own experience in business talking to low-ranking workers has gotten him better outcomes.
What in the world kind of analogy is this? Still trying to figure where he was heading and how exactly this would help with what’s happening with the war. Trump needs to get a grip and tread carefully with how he directs his advisers. This is a WAR. All directions should be CLEAR and not said just to say. Hopefully, the military officials are not led to making bad decisions. That’s Trump’s style.
