Trump Just Deleted All Of These Tweets After Primary Loss Of Candidate He Backed

Following Roy Moore’s primary win last night in Alabama Senate race last night, Donald Trump began deleting tweets backing Luther Strange. While some of Trump’s tweets remain active, many of them were taken down. That caught the attention of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics (CREW), the watchdog group who said they plan to sue.

“Trump can try to erase his support of Strange, but under the Presidential Records Act, all his tweets must be archived (we’re suing over it),” the group wrote.

The deleted tweets:

To be sure, Trump wanted Strange to win, but last night he sent out a congratulatory tweet in support of Roy Moore.

“Congratulations to Roy Moore on his Republican Primary win in Alabama. Luther Strange started way back & ran a good race,” Trump tweeted. “Roy, WIN in Dec!”

But, that was after he sent out a tweet calling for Moore to “win in November.”

Here are all of the tweets Trump has sent out begging for people to vote for Luther Strange.

Luther Strange, who has been holding Jeff Sessions’ seat, was, as you can see, vigorously backed by Trump. In fact, it was at a rally for Strange that Trump called black athletes who kneel during the national anthem in protest of racial inequality and police abuse ‘sons of bitches.’ Moore has defended Putin, hates gays, has been removed from the Supreme Court and wanted to block Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison from serving in office because he’s of the Muslim faith.

So, why the deleted tweets? It’s likely because Trump doesn’t want to give the appearance of supporting Strange as much as he did in order to save face, but the Internet is forever.

Meanwhile, this morning, Trump tweeted, “Spoke to Roy Moore of Alabama last night for the first time. Sounds like a really great guy who ran a fantastic race. He will help to #MAGA!”

On Monday, Trump said that if Ray (he repeatedly forgot that his first name is Roy) Moore wins the primary, that Democrat Doug Jones will win the election. But, we’re talking about deep red ALABAMA here, a state in which it’s acceptable to disparage minorities and call them sons of bitches, and defeating a Democrat, even if his election would be in their best interest, is what they call ‘winning.’
