Out of nowhere, Trump had another meltdown on Twitter.

But if you’re wondering why Trump is angrily slandering CNN on Twitter instead of, say, filling out his cabinet there are two reasons:
- He recently announced that he would be sitting down with his full-time propagandist, Sean Hannity, on Fox
- Jake Tapper humiliated him
Shortly before Trump’s freak out, CNN’s Tapper torched him for pushing a blatantly false conspiracy theory by suggesting “3 to 5 million” Democrats voted illegally in the presidential election. Trump went so far as to get his press secretary, the disgraced Sean Spicer to repeat the lies and add a few more of his own.
“The president does believe that. He has stated that before. I think he’s stated his concerns of voter fraud and people voting illegally during the campaign,” Spicer said. “He continues to maintain that belief based on studies and evidence that people have presented to him.”
There are no “studies,” there is no “evidence.” These are lies.
And Jake Tapper just put on a master class in how to cut through the bullshit and hold Trump accountable for this garbage.

Trump is pushing the “voter fraud” narrative primarily to protect his own fragile ego. He lost by 3 million votes. He’s acutely aware of that fact. And it bugs the hell out of him. As Tapper correctly points out, if in fact there were “millions” of illegal votes in the 2016 election, then Republicans would be duty-bound to actually do something about it. There would be investigations. Inquiries. Grand Juries. Indictments. They are doing nothing because there is nothing to investigate.
So Trump is left to lie – and Tapper isn’t letting him get away with it.
