By now, the only people who actually believe that Mexico is going to pay for Donald Trump’s ridiculous, ineffective border wall is his dwindling group of supporters – and apparently, Trump himself.
After both the former and current President of Mexico have stated several times in the past that Mexico will not, under any circumstances, pay for “that f*cking wall”, Trump is still under the delusion that his proposed border wall will eventually be paid for by the country – and he went to tremendous lengths to try and convince America of this lie earlier today.
As Trump has known to go unsupervised and unhinged on his weekends away from the White House, Trump didn’t disappoint this Sunday. Trump whined about the Democrats not wanting to support his border wall, and claimed it would actually stop “drugs” and “gang members” – once again insulting the people from Mexico, who Trump previously called “drug dealers” and “rapists” during his campaign:
![](<p>If you’re not yet familiar with the Assemblywoman that the people of District 4 in Nevada elected to serve them since February 2013, allow me to introduce you to <a href="http://votefiore.com/about-michele-fiore/" target="_blank">Michele Fiore</a>. She <a href="http://www.opposingviews.com/i/society/guns/nev-assemblywoman-michele-fiore-says-she-carries-gun-gun-free-zones" target="_blank">describes herself</a> as a “conservative, Catholic, gun-toting, second amendment, strong-ass woman” and <a href="http://www.opposingviews.com/i/society/guns/nev-assemblywoman-michele-fiore-says-she-carries-gun-gun-free-zones" target="_blank">brags that</a> “as someone that carries a firearm on me like my panties and bra, I do break the law because I generally carry my gun in places where they say is a gun-free zone, because I’m not going to be a victim of a stupid law.”</p>
<p>She’s been <a href="http://votefiore.com/2015/02/18/statement-michele-fiore-new-york-times-story/" target="_blank">drawing attention to herself</a> recently by saying, <a href="http://votefiore.com/2015/02/20/lets-talk-campus-carry/" target="_blank">among other things</a>, “If these young, hot little girls on campus have a firearm, I wonder how many men will want to assault them. The sexual assaults that are occurring would go down once these sexual predators get a bullet in their head.”</p>

<p>That comment was completely dismantled by John Foubert, a professor at Oklahoma State University and President of <a href="http://oneinfourusa.org/" target="_blank">One in Four</a>, whose tag line is “One in four college women have survived rape or attempted rape.” <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/19/us/in-bid-to-allow-guns-on-campus-weapons-are-linked-to-fighting-sexual-assault.html?_r=3" target="_blank">Foubert says</a>:</p>
<blockquote><p>It reflects a misunderstanding of sexual assaults in general. If you have a rape situation, usually it starts with some sort of consensual behavior, and by the time it switches to nonconsensual, it would be nearly impossible to run for a gun. Maybe if it’s someone who raped you before and is coming back, it theoretically could help them feel more secure.</p></blockquote>
<p>If that wasn’t enough to solidify her credentials as an idiot, <a href="http://votefiore.com/walk-talk-michele-fiore/" target="_blank">she took to the public airwaves</a> on her radio show “Walk The Talk” (and posted it on <a href="https://twitter.com/votefiore" target="_blank">her Twitter account</a>) stating that she believes that cancer is a fungus that can be cured by flushing the body with salt water:</p>
<blockquote><p>If you have cancer, which I believe is a fungus, and we can put a pic line into your body and we’re flushing with, say, salt water, sodium ‘cardinate’ through that line and flushing out the fungus. These are some procedures that are not FDA-approved in America that are very inexpensive, cost-effective.</p></blockquote>
<p>If you can stomach it, listen to the <a href="http://votefiore.com/walk-talk-michele-fiore/" target="_blank">entire ridiculous episode</a> from February 21, 2014. While you’re listening, remember that <em><strong>the people of Nevada elected her to represent them</strong></em>.</p>
<p>If that wasn’t ridiculous enough, a simple google search on her part could have prevented her from embarrassing herself (this time, anyway). <a href="http://www.cancer.org/treatment/treatmentsandsideeffects/complementaryandalternativemedicine/herbsvitaminsandminerals/sodium-bicarbonate" target="_blank">The American Cancer Society</a> shows that this theory was foisted upon the public by an Italian then-physician, Tullio Simoncini, who came up with the theory that cancer was caused by yeast infections, or <em>Candida Albicans</em>.</p>
<p>The American Cancer Society reports:</p>
<blockquote><p>[Dr. Simoncini] has been using unsubstantiated cancer treatments for 15 years… in 2003, his [Italian] license to practice medicine was withdrawn, and in 2006 he was convicted by an Italian judge for wrongful death and swindling… This has not stopped him from continuing to provide his controversial treatments, not only in Italy, but apparently also in foreign countries, such as the Netherlands.</p></blockquote>
<p>They go on further to state:</p>
<blockquote><p>No peer-reviewed articles in medical journals were found to support the theory that cancer is caused by a fungus infection or a yeast infection. Available peer-reviewed medical journals do not support claims that sodium bicarbonate works as a cancer treatment in humans.</p></blockquote>
<p>All I have to say is: <strong>Nevada, you brought this on yourselves</strong>.</p>

Then Trump got even more hysterical and insane. He insisted that Mexico will pay “in some form” for the “badly needed” wall.
This is absolutely insane, and a little bit hilarious considering how badly Trump is failing to actually make this happen. Mexico refused to pay for the border wall, so Trump was forced to walk back his comments and state that U.S. taxpayers would pay for the border wall, and Mexico would “reimburse” the United States later. We all know that no such reimbursement is going to occur and the American people are going to get screwed over paying for a wall that the majority of the country doesn’t even want.
Currently, Democrats are strongly resisting the idea of allowing money from the budget to go to Trump’s wall – and it’s become a heated budget debate. Lawmakers are under pressure to pass legislation to fund the government this week, otherwise it might shut down. Trump has vowed to somehow keep the government open, which is likely why he’s going ballistic on Twitter over his border wall, the bottleneck in the process.
As usual, Americans did not react kindly to Trump’s lies – and put him right in his place. The responses were swift and brutal, and Trump deserved every last one of them:

<p>When it comes to the big picture, however, it just doesn’t make sense. Surely there aren’t enough people who dimwitted to actually keep the numbskulls they vote for in office. How many times can they shame the poor, verbally abuse women, disrespect minorities and scream “BENGHAZI!” before the sane people of our nation catch on and vote them out?</p>
<p>The truth can be seen in the latest Presidential election. President Obama <a href="http://elections.nytimes.com/2012/results/president" target="_blank">won by an electoral landslide</a>. Surely a party can’t go into an election with 256 electoral votes in its back pocket and still fail to regain the House of Representatives.</p>
<p>Presidential elections work quite a bit different from Congressional elections. States are broken down by districts, and when the last redistricting came about, Republicans were riding the wave of fear left by 9/11 and campaigning on the War on Terror.</p>
<p>To keep themselves in power they used one of the oldest dirty tricks in the book, but to an extent we’ve never witnessed before: The gerrymander.</p>
<p>Gerrymandering is when a district is redrawn to encompass a specific block of voters, and this simple Tumblr graphic, which is floating around cyberspace un-credited, explains it best:</p>

<p>That pretty much sums it up. If it seems hard to believe that this kind of thing actually happens, take a look at some of these ridiculous gerrymandered districts:</p>

<p>There have been cases where <a href="http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2014/10/07/3577120/breaking-federal-court-declares-virginias-congressional-maps-unconstitutional/">federal judges rule </a>a district violates the Voter’s Rights Act and orders it redrawn, but since the Supreme Court gutted the Act, it seems little will be done to take the power from the corrupt congressmen and give it back to the people.</p>
<p>With gerrymandered districts and a strong push to keep their base full of lies and hate, Republicans will hardly need the billion dollars the Koch Brothers are reportedly ready to spend to buy the White House in 2016.</p>
<p>Democrats have only one choice, and luckily it’s fairly simple: Get out and vote. When blue voting percentages are high, Republicans lose.</p>
