Donald Trump must be full of energy today, just judging from his Twitter activity over the last few hours. Unfortunately, he’s not going to use that energy to actually do some work. Instead, he is spending his time on Twitter, posting his usual incoherent nonsense and wasting America’s time.
Trump’s Twitter thread began with calling for the end of the filibuster, suggesting new controls on the Internet, and speaking about the terrorism that struck London. Once he’d gotten all of that off his chest, he turned his attention to the media and decided to go after sports network ESPN for something one of its recent employees did.
The sports network recently came under fire when one of the network’s anchors, Jemele Hill, blasted Trump on social media and called him out as a white supremacist. Despite how true that statement was, the network has been getting pummeled, and Trump is now adding his voice to the conversation. Trump tweeted:
ESPN is paying a really big price for its politics (and bad programming). People are dumping it in RECORD numbers. Apologize for untruth!”
Although the network has already stated that Hill’s comments did not reflect the views of the network, that’s apparently not enough for Trump and his White House. Even after White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders stated that Hill’s comments should be a “fireable offense,” Trump is insisting on a bigger apology.
The fact that Trump has time and energy for such things is truly unfortunate for America. Trump has the time to react to everything that people say about him, but can’t find the time to actually learn about how to be POTUS and lead the country. He is a disgrace and his incompetence will haunt America long after he is out of the White House.
