You’ve probably heard that special counsel Robert Mueller has assembled a grand jury for the Russia investigations. This seems to indicate that Mueller and his team of prosecutors are preparing for mass scale criminal charges. Trump’s heard that too, and he has a better idea for how Mueller can spend his time.
At a totally normal campaign rally about six months into Trump’s first term that isn’t out of place at all in Huntington, West Virginia, Trump told the crowd that Mueller should be beating the dead horse that is Hillary Clinton’s emails rather than investigating him.
“What the prosecutors should be looking at are Hillary Clinton’s 33,000 deleted emails,” Trump said, adding that Mueller’s investigation should focus on “paid Russian speeches,” given by Clinton (Bill, but facts do not matter to Trump), claims that Clinton “owned Russian companies” and the debunked yet highly repeated lie that Clinton “sold” uranium to “very angry Russians.”
“The reason why Democrats only talk about the totally made up Russia story is because they have no message, no agenda, and no vision,” Trump said. “It’s just an excuse for the greatest loss in the history of American politics.”
