The Washington Post just released more breaking news verifying that a top Trump Organization executive sent Russian President Vladimir Putin’s personal aide asking for help on a Trump Tower project in Moscow.

The report comes after it was already announced by the Post on Monday that the organization was in talks negotiating a building, and the Russian-born developer, Felix Sater, said he could potentially get Putin to say “great things” about Trump during the election, further helping his chances.

The executive’s name is Michael Cohen – a guy who regularly appears on television defending Trump. He sent the email in January 2016 to Dmitry Pekow, a top Kremlin press aide.

According to the Post, here are the some of the contents of the email:

“Over the past few months I have been working with a company based in Russia regarding the development of a Trump Tower – Moscow project in Moscow City,” Cohen wrote Peskov, according to a person familiar with the email. “Without getting into lengthy specifics the communication between our two sides has stalled.”

“As this project is too important, I am hereby requesting your assistance. I respectfully request someone, preferably you, contact me so that I might discuss the specifics as well as arranging meetings with the appropriate individuals. I thank you in advance for your assistance and look forward to hearing from you soon,” Cohen wrote.

There are a couple things wrong with this. 1) Trump and his organization repeatedly denied business deals in Russia, yet, while they were denying them to the American people, they were actively pursuing one. That’s a major red flag. 2) Even though the deal didn’t go through, this is evidence that Trump was focused on how the election would benefit his organization. Perhaps Trump didn’t think he would actually win the presidential nomination but truly did run for president for the publicity. Then, later when Trump realized he actually had a shot of winning, the deal fell through due to the pubic scrutiny of his Russian connections.
