As you know, white supremacists overwhelmingly supported one candidate in the election: Donald John Trump. In the aftermath of Trump’s election, the media called these people economically uncertain. When conservatives showed up in force on Sunday to defend confederate statues from removal in New Orleans, they really let their “economic anxiety” out to play.
The “not-racists” on the Right showed up — many armed to the teeth — to complain about the planned removals of statues honoring notorious traitor, Confederate “President” Jefferson Davis, and two of his generals. It was an “alt-Right” (that means Nazi) clusterf*ck of a gathering:
On Sunday afternoon, anti-statue protesters numbering 500, according to police estimates, took to the streets in a boisterous second line parade through the French Quarter and downtown, ending at Lee Circle, the roundabout where the Lee statue is. There, they faced off against about 150 protesters who had come from all over the country in a show of support for the statue. Some of the counterdemonstators brandished Confederate battle flags. Some exhibited Pepe the Frog insignia and other trappings of the so-called alt-right, a fringe movement that embraces white nationalism. And some wore improvised battle gear, including bike helmets, shin guards and homemade shields.
Though they lacked the numbers of the pro-removal group, the anti-removal protesters made up for it in hate. As chants erupted informing them that they are not welcome in New Orleans, the poor little right-wing snowflakes became triggered and did what they always seem to do when they get mad — scream angrily.
“This is my country,” one economically anxious man screamed at a black protester. “This is the South. Your f*cking country is Africa you ugly f*cking monkey.”
“You were born in Africa, you f*cking n*gger,” the man added, further emphasizing his deep worry about the state of the economy. “F*ck you. F*ck you. N*gger! N*gger! N*gger!”
Others joined in this gentleman’s expression of his concern for our nation’s financial situation.
