With Donald Trump’s latest remarks seemingly incapable of condemning white supremacists and instead opting to say there are bad people on “many sides,” people around the nation are continuing to rise up against him and resist.
One of the greatest forms of resistance, since the beginning of time, is art. Whether in creative writing, painting, or any form of creative expression to oppose those in power.
What someone just did to Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is just a further example of the power of art. They placed a KKK hood on the top of the star with eyes cut out to depict Trump as a member of the Klan.

Now, it’s unclear if this is actually on the sidewalk or done in photoshop after a photo was taken, but either way, it’s powerful and haunting.
Art and politics go hand in hand and often will say what others are unwilling to say outloud. It’s a tool of those who seek to oppose tyranny and sends a message without any words.
The fact that someone did this to the star of a now *president is a sign of our times and very telling.
