If there’s anyone worse at being press secretary than Sean Spicer, it’s definitely Sarah Huckabee Sanders. But Donald Trump doesn’t seem to care if his press secretary is good, so long as they’re loyal and sell the narrative he wants being sold.
During Tuesday’s press briefing, clearly having no pride, Sanders started to go off on the press and tell them, to their faces, that they are dishonest and make up the news with no valid sources.
Tired of the BS shenanigans, White House reporter Brian Karem pushed back against the allegations.
“C’mon. You’re inflaming everybody right here, right now, with those words. Any one of us, right, are replaceable, and any one of us if we don’t get it right, the audience has the opportunity to turn the channel or not read us. You have been elected to serve for four years at least.”
“And what you just did is inflammatory to people all over the country who look at it and say, ‘See, once again, the president is right, and everybody out here is fake media.’ And everybody in this room is only trying to do their job.”
In response, Sanders had nothing of importance to say except repeat the lines she’s clearly been told to repeat. She said:
“I think if anything has been inflamed, it’s the dishonesty that often takes place by the news media.” Adding, it’s “outrageous for you to accuse me of inflaming a story when I was simply trying to respond.”
So, really, the conversation took a bridge to nowhere. Sad!
Watch the beautiful moment Sanders was called out here:
