As a man and a leader, there is nothing to admire about Donald Trump. The former reality show star’s disrespect for others was made clear during the campaign. After the election, that continued to escalate. Trump lashes out at polls and this new Gallup poll is going to drive him crazy. Former President Obama retained the “most admired man” title for the 10th consecutive year. Trump’s former rival Hillary Clinton was named the most admired woman for the 16th year in a row.
President Obama came in first this year, with 17 percent of the vote. Trump received 14 percent of the vote.
Hillary Clinton has been named most admired more than any other man or woman in polling history. Michelle Obama came in second with 7 percent; Melania Trump received one percent of the vote.
Trump is one of few incumbent presidents who has not been named the most admired among all Americans in the Gallup poll and that’s not too surprising since he’s the least popular president in the history of polling at this point in his presidency. Although, in Gallup’s latest poll, it was voted on along party lines, with Republicans largely voting for Trump for the coveted title.
During Trump’s first full day in office, he deliberately exaggerated the size of his inauguration crowd. Later, during his first formal interview, he did it again, insisting that his Inaugural “audience was the biggest ever” even though pictures of the event – in a side-by-side comparison to Obama’s – proved otherwise. Trump refuses to acknowledge reality even when the facts are right in front of his face. When poll numbers were good for Trump, he bragged about them during the campaign. Now that he’s in office, he calls his dismal ratings ‘fake news’ and ‘fake polls.’
There’s no doubt that most Americans would love to have Obama back to lead this country, but the former President is now enjoying life as a private citizen and he has earned that.
