A few days after former Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price resigned for spending over $1 million on military and chartered flights, the Washington Post revealed a shocking fact. 5 cabinet members other than Price took 71 chartered or military flights.
The members are:
1] Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin
2] Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao
3] Energy Secretary Rick Perry
4] Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke
5] EPA administrator Scott Pruitt

The graph shows that the cabinet members, including the Treasury Secretary himself traveled on taxpayer’s money. Technically it isn’t illegal, but very unethical.
Treasury inspector general counsel Rich Delmar said, “Just because something’s legal doesn’t make it right. With few exceptions, the commercial air system used by millions of Americans every day is appropriate, even for very senior officials.”
The exact estimate of the cost is unavailable. However, we know that Price and Mnuchin spent at least $1.8 million on their flights.
While the country records its highest ever job losses in 16 years, senior officials in Trump’s administration are busy spending on luxury.
