Donald Trump just threw one of his team members under the bus for the umpteenth time all because the person said something he didn’t like.
That person is his own Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Sessions used to be Trump’s guy until he recently decided to pull himself from Justice Department’s Russia Investigation because of ‘conflict of interest’. According to CNN, The attorney general made his decision after it became public that he had previously met on behalf of the Trump campaign with Russian Ambassador to the US Sergey Kislyak during an event at the Republican National Convention, and later in his senate office. Sounds like Session couldn’t take the pressure anymore, saw a way out of this scandal and BOLTED.
In his interview with The New York Time’s Wednesday, Trump disrespected Sessions for his decision to recuse saying,
“Jeff Sessions takes the job, gets into the job, recuses himself, which, frankly, I think is very unfair to the President,” Trump said, referring to himself. “How do you take a job and then recuse yourself? If he would have recused himself before the job, I would have said, ‘Thanks, Jeff, but I’m not going to take you.’ It’s extremely unfair — and that’s a mild word — to the President.”
Sessions said in a public statement just moments ago that he still plans to keep the position despite Trump calling him unloyal. Even though Sessions was one of the first Republicans to back Trump’s announcement to run for President. A reporter asked him how does he feel like he can effectively serve if he doesn’t have the confidence of the president, to which he said that he was doing it ‘right now’.
We love this job. We love this department, and I plan to continue to do so as long as that is appropriate.
Where is your integrity Sessions, get outta of there fast, Don’t wait for him to fire you, save yourself and salvage whatever is left of your reputation.
