Ivanka Trump and the Trump administration would like nothing more than to rebrand her as the every mom, as typical of the working woman. In her latest book (yes, a 35-year-old who was born wealthy and has done little but employ Chinese near slave labor has “written” two books), called “Women who Work are Real,” Trump tried to relate by complaining that during the campaign, she was so damned busy that she couldn’t even make time for massages.
She writes: “During extremely high-capacity times, like during the campaign, I went into survival mode: I worked and I was with my family; I didn’t do much else. Honestly, I wasn’t treating myself to a massage or making much time for self-care. I wish I could have awoken early to meditate for twenty minutes …”

As you can imagine, her First World Problem didn’t garner the sympathy she wanted:
@Newsweek who knew being assistant to the president was going to stand in the way of those things, who knew?

@CAPEarlyEd @IvankaTrump @IvankaTrump seriously? Your “survival mode” included a missed massage? Try playing the game of “What bill doesn’t get paid this month”!

Hearing she can’t always get a massage is cringeworthy but informing us that “Women who work are real” is idiotic. https://t.co/8e6IxRr6dK

I think you need to hire some nannies and housekeepers to give you time for a massage. Oh wait!! You already have those!!!— April Reardon (@Reardon2007) May 2, 2017
While Trump stresses over her lack of de-stress time, most working moms are worried about something much more important — the amount of time they spend with their families.
About four-in-ten full-time working mothers say they spend too little time with their kids. By comparison, 18% of part-time working mothers and 11% of non-working mothers say the same. For their part, working fathers are significantly more likely than working mothers to say they spend too little time with their children – fully half of full-time working fathers say this is the case.
Time with children isn’t the only area where full-time working parents are feeling the squeeze – 55% say they don’t spend enough time away from their children to get together with friends or pursue hobbies, and among those who are married or cohabiting, 42% say they spend too little time with their partners. Roughly equal shares of full-time working moms and dads say they have too little time in these areas.

Even further outside of Trump’s understanding lies the fact that many women are the only bread winner for their family and among families headed by a single mother, 2.1 million of them are living in poverty, despite the fact that the mother is working.
Her father, though, has no interest in helping working mothers. His child care plan, which was crafted in part by Ivanka, is a big gift to the wealthy and no help whatsoever for poor working mothers. And as for the mothers working for poverty wages, Trump says they can just go screw themselves. Perhaps, though, between trying to help children with homework and trying to make ends meet, these working moms can get a quick massage.
