In A Last-Ditch Effort To Score Celebrities For His Inauguration, Trump Dangles Ambassadorships

Trump is so desperate to find actual talent for his inauguration, he’s now bribing A-listers with government posts and ambassadorships and even THAT isn’t working for him. Sorry, Donald. Many people don’t like you. Looks like you’re stuck with Kanye and whatever it is that Scott Baio can do.

Talent booking agents, wishing to remain anonymous, told TheWrap that they were approached by members of Trump’s Presidential Inaugural Committee with offers to be paid exorbitant amounts of money, and some of them were even offered diplomatic posts in exchange for booking singers.

One source said that he was “shocked” at the proposal:

“Never in a million years have I heard something so crazy! That was the moment I almost dropped the phone.”

So far, aside from possibly Kanye West, who met with Donald Trump earlier in the week, Trump has only secured one official singer — former America’s Got Talent star, 16-year-old Jackie Evancho, who was booked to sing the National Anthem.

When Trump’s team was asked for comment, Boris Epshteyn, committee spokesman, said:

“There is no truth to this insinuation. First-class entertainers are eager to participate in the inaugural events. The inauguration as a whole will be an exciting and uniting celebration of freedom and democracy. We will be releasing further details at the appropriate time.”

But further proving that Trump’s team (just like Trump) are liars who can’t even manage to book a marching band, TheWrap reports:

A second insider said he was offered a government post, including an ambassadorship, if he could wrangle a top artist. The insider, a talent manager, said he knew at least two other people who have been offered similar deals, but who did not wish to speak to the news media.

Asked how the subject of a possible ambassadorship came up, the second recruiter said he was offered “access to the administration.”

“They said they were in the process of  ‘figuring out posts, ambassadorships and commissions’ if that was of any interest,” the manager said.

The manager said he declined the offer and did not ask which ambassadorships were on the table.

This is all just seriously pathetic. When are we going to wake up from this nightmare?
