Sean Hannity is now attacking Fox News anchors who don’t support Donald Trump as much as he does.
In yet another example of why Hannity should be fired once and for all, the conservative Trump propaganda puppet whined during his radio show about Fox News anchor Shepard Smith.
Last week, as Trump’s Russia scandal heated up after Trump Jr. released an email chain showing him agreeing to a meeting with a Russian lawyer in order to get dirt on Hillary Clinton from the Russia government. As it turns out, despite Trump and his team insisting that the meeting went nowhere and that no one else attended, and that includes Trump Jr. telling Hannity to his face that the email shows “everything” about his meetings with Russians, it turns out that the Trump administration and Trump Jr. were lying.
Not only did Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort attend the meeting, it was also attended by a former Soviet intelligence officer. It has since been confirmed that eight people were at the meeting, which was held at Trump Tower.
On Friday, Smith criticized Trump for insisting that the whole situation is meaningless, yet continuing to lie about it.
“If there’s nothing there and that’s what they tell us, they tell us there’s nothing to this and nothing came of it, a nothing burger, it wasn’t memorable. Didn’t tell you about it because it wasn’t anything, so I didn’t even remember it with a Russian interpreter in the room at Trump Tower,” Smith said. “If all of that, why all of these lies? Why is it lie after lie after lie?”
Indeed, if the Trumps have nothing to hide, why lie about it over and over again?
And this criticism came from a man who was hired by Fox News to deliver the news of the day as neutral and unbiased as possible. Smith isn’t a blowhard administration cheerleader like Hannity.
Of course, when Hannity watched Smith’s criticism he lashed out during his radio show, accusing Smith of being “anti-Trump” just because Smith doesn’t kiss Trump’s ass the way Hannity does on a daily basis.
“I like Shep,” Hannity began. “But he’s so anti-Trump. I mean, he went off on a rant last week.” Then the host ranted:
“Shep Smith disagrees with me. And he does so vehemently. Fine, I have no problem with it. I’ll say this about the Fox News Channel, there are voices on Fox that drive me nuts. Like Shep and I been friends for years, we just respect we don’t agree. And the media was praising Shep and he’s not the biggest fan of Trump, fine! We don’t talk politics when we hang out, when I see him we have the best time and we just have this mutual respect.”
In response, Smith schooled Hannity on facts and slammed Hannity for not being a journalist.
“Sometimes facts are displeasing,” Smith said. “Journalists report them without fear or favor.”
Basically, Smith just called Hannity out for being Trump’s b*tch. And it’s about time someone at Fox did. Hannity’s war against the media has put Fox in a terrible spot. The network is now seen as state-run news that serves as Trump’s propaganda machine. Every time Hannity opens his mouth he alienates the anchors at Fox who at least make an effort to report the news without bias. How long will it be before respectable newsmen like Chris Wallace and Shep Smith decide to leave Fox News rather than continue to be attacked by Trump puppets like Hannity for doing their jobs? It sounds like Fox News will soon have to make a decision. They can either choose to be more respectable as a news organization or they can choose to be Trump’s North Korea-style propaganda network. If they choose the former, Hannity will have to go.
