Donald Trump is doing an amazing job proving to America that he doesn’t give a sh*t about the country or its people and that he has very little interest in actually being President of the United States. This could not have been more obvious than Trump’s actions yesterday.
Not only did Trump heartlessly skip fallen soldier Sgt. La David Johnson’s funeral to play golf, but he also ditched a fundraising concert meant to raise money and resources for hurricane victims later that night. Here’s the real kicker — all of Trump’s five living predecessors were at this concert, helping to raise funds with the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library Foundation. See for yourself:
To make this even more insane, Trump actually THANKED and praised his predecessors for their work. In a video, Trump accidentally acknowledged that former presidents Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama were working far harder for Americans than he was!
In his video, Trump said:
The heartbreaking devastation caused by hurricanes Harvey and Irma and Maria and Nate, along with the terrible wildfires in California, have impacted millions of our fellow Americans. As a nation, we mourn for those who died, and we pray for those who lost their homes or their livelihoods.
To Presidents Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, Melania and I want to express our deep gratitude for your tremendous assistance. This wonderful effort reminds us that we truly are one nation under God, all unified by our values and our devotion to one another.”
It’s hard to believe that Trump could be any more despicable than skipping this. After his disastrous response to the recent devastation in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and other parts of the U.S., including California, one would think that Trump would want to clean up his reputation and show a little effort and compassion. Apparently, that is not the case.
