By now, we are all aware of the bizarre Oval Office interview Donald Trump gave to CBS’s John Dickerson. He even taunted Dickerson to his face, referencing the “fake media” and calling Dickerson’s own show, Face the Nation, “Deface the Nation.” Of course, being the great journalist that he is, Dickerson took Trump’s childish taunts in stride (though we are sure he is just as concerned about Trump’s unhinged behavior as the rest of us). There is one person who was not going to let Trump get away with insulting Dickerson so freely to his face though: Late Show host Stephen Colbert.
Never one to pull any punches when it comes to Trump, Colbert tore into the orange viciously during a monologue for the ages. He began:
Walking out in the middle of a sentence wasn’t even the president’s biggest insult to Jon Dickerson.”
Colbert then played the clip to remind the audience just how horrible Trump had been to Dickerson and continued:
Really? Donald Trump, Jon Dickerson is a fair-minded journalist, and one of the most competent people who will ever walk into your office. And you treat him like that? Now, John Dickerson has way too much dignity to trade insults with the president of the United States to his face. But I, sir, am no John Dickerson.”
“Let me introduce you to something we call the Tiffany Way. When you insult one member of the CBS family, you insult us all. Bazinga! Alright? Here we go.”
“Mr. Trump, your presidency – I love your presidency. I call it ‘Disgrace the Nation.’ You’re not the POTUS, you’re the BLOTUS. You’re the glutton with the button. You’re a regular Gorge Washington. You’re the presidunce. But you’re turning into a real pricktator. Sir, you attract more skinheads than free Rogaine. You have more people marching against you than cancer. You talk like a sign language gorilla who’s been hit in the head. In fact, the only thing your mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin’s cockholster.
Your presidential library is gonna be a kid’s menu and a couple of jugs magazines. The only thing smaller than your hands is your tax returns. You can take that any way you want.”
Now, that has to be Colbert’s best anti-Trump tirade yet, and I can’t wait to see what he comes up with the next time Trump inevitably insults another treasured member of the Fourth Estate. The thing is, this kind of humor is likely what is scariest to this autocratic administration; after all, comedy is funniest when it is true.
Keep it up, Stephen Colbert. You are one of our most valuable assets in these oh so dark days.

#FireColbert is trending because comedians scare the hell out of this corrupt, evil presidency. They speak truth. pic.twitter.com/wEBhkbpvRf
