CNN’s Don Lemon has had it with Donald Trump’s bullshit. Following the alleged president’s speech in Phoenix, Lemon launched into a brutal rant live on air, utterly destroying Trump and his lies.
Clearly deciding that he can’t hold back any longer, Lemon let the whole world know how he really feels.
Well, what do you say to that?” Lemon asked as Trump shook hands following Tuesday’s campaign rally. “I’m just gonna speak from the heart here. What we have witnessed was a total eclipse of the facts. Someone who came out onto the stage and lied directly to the American people. And left things out that he said in an attempt to rewrite history, especially when it comes to Charlottesville.”
“He’s unhinged. It’s embarrasing, I dont mean for us, the media, because he went after us, but for the country. This is who we elected President of the United States. A man who is so petty that he has to go after people who he deems to be his enemy like an imaginary friend of a six-year-old.”
Ouch. As brutal as that was, Lemon was still a very long way from being finished with his assessment of our Whackjob in Chief and the disastrous speech he had just delivered. More than a little fed up, Lemon had a few more things to say and he wasn’t about to start sugar coating anything now.
His speech was without thought. It was without reason. It was devoid of facts. It was devoid of wisdom. There was no gravitas. There was no sanity there. He was acting like a child blaming a sibling on something else. ‘He did it. I didn’t do it,’ ” Lemon continued.
“He certainly opened up the race wound from Charlottesville. A man clearly wounded by the rational people who are abandoning him in droves, meaning those business people. And the people in Washington now who are questioning his fitness for office and whether he is stable. A man backed into a corner, it seems, by circumstances beyond his control and beyond his understanding. That’s the truth.”
The honesty of Lemon’s comments combined with the calmness of his voice and the gravity of his words are downright chilling. He hit the nail on the head and there really isn’t much left to say after that mic drop.
