We didn’t think it was possible, but Donald Trump went beyond his worst Twitter behavior when he recently shared a video that portrayed him violently beating up the “fake news media”, specifically CNN. If you haven’t already seen this shocking tweet, here it is:

To think that the President of the United States would share such a thing is beyond comprehension. It seems that Trump’s love for encouraging violent behavior didn’t end with his presidential campaign – and how he’s encouraging people to physically harm the media.

CNN reporter Jim Acosta, one of Trump’s least favorite members of the free press, weighed in on Trump’s disgusting Twitter attack, stating the severity of what Trump has just done. Acosta urged America to do something before things get worse:

We have to stand up to this. We have to confront this and say that it’s wrong. My concern is, and I know it’s shared by others, is that this kind of rhetoric, this kind of behavior is going to lead to a journalist being hurt. That’s the thing I worry about.”

Acosta couldn’t be more correct here. As we’ve seen with the amount of violence and hate crimes that have erupted out of Trump’s rallies and presidency, it’s clear that the former reality television star sees nothing wrong with encouraging this kind of behavior – and his followers are more than happy to act on his call for mayhem and bloodshed.

Acosta also wondered when politicians on both sides will finally say that “enough is enough” and do something about Trump and his efforts to “intimidate” and “silence” the media. You can watch Acosta below:

Acosta is not alone in his concern. Another CNN contributor, Ana Navarro, also reacted similarly to Trump’s attack on the network, stating that Trump’s attacks will ultimately lead to someone in the media being killed.

America needs to heed Acosta’s words here. What Trump has done is serious, and there will be serious consequences.
