Clueless Donald Trump Doesn’t Know He’s The President Of The U.S. Virgin Islands

Donald Trump’s Energy Secretary Rick Perry just yesterday thought that Puerto Rico is ‘a country’ even though the island is a U.S. territory. Perry was quickly corrected for that.

Following Perry’s lead, Donald Trump talked about another U.S. territory which was struck by hurricanes but he thinks it’s a foreign country/territory/whatever. Trump spoke at the Values Voters Summit on Friday morning and said that he met with the “president” of the U.S. Virgin Islands.

“I will tell you I left Texas and I left Florida and I left Louisiana and I went to Puerto Rico and I met with the President of the Virgin Islands,” he told the audience.

The Washington Post reports:

The Virgin Islands don’t have a president; they have a governor, Kenneth Mapp, with whom Trump met 10 days ago. In fact, their president is none other than Trump himself, since they are Americans.

Rex Tillerson is correct. Trump is a f*cking moron.

Trump has been widely criticized for his handling of hurricane-devastated Puerto Rico, another U.S. territory. Trump is the island’s president or is supposed to be, however, he has repeatedly bashed Puerto Rico for its debt while making threats to abandon recovery efforts.

And then, in a stunning about-face, Trump tweeted this morning, “The wonderful people of Puerto Rico, with their unmatched spirit, know how bad things were before the H’s. I will always be with them!”

It’s as if the former reality show star is off his meds, or suffering from Alzheimer’s. It would almost be funny if this was a cartoon, but this is real life and people are suffering. While California is burning and Puerto Ricans are dying, Trump bragged at the Summit that “We’re saying Merry Christmas again!” It’s all because of him, even though we’ve been saying it for years.
