California Governor Jerry Brown came out this weekend against not only President Trump but everyone who supports him, comparing them to prehistoric cave dwellers.
“They’re both kind of very similar,” the governor told Politico. “You should check out the derivation of ‘Trump-ite’ and ‘troglodyte,’ because they both refer to people who dwell in deep, dark caves.”
Governor Brown had just signed two bills planning to spend $1.5 billion on environmental initiatives. The comments came after he assessed Trump’s positions on climate change and his stance toward North Korea.
“President Trump is the null hypothesis, which he’s proven,” Mr. Brown said, Politico reported. “Everything he’s doing is … stupid and dangerous and silly. I mean, come on, really, calling the North Korean dictator ‘Rocket Man?’ … He is accelerating the reversal through his own absurdity.”
“These other powers are going to gang up on Mr. Trump, and he’s going to find out, ‘You’re fired,’ ” he reportedly said, noting that Mr. Trump will “fail very soon.”
Trump is due to make a major speech at the United Nations and is expected to address the opening session of the United Nations Assembly, where climate change is going to be discussed main and center.
Previously Trump has called climate change a “hoax” perpetuated by the Chinese and just recently has made conjectures signaling that he may not back out of the Paris Climate Change agreement after all, which would be a major flip-flop against his campaign promises.
