During an interview with Laura Ingraham of Fox News, President Donald Trump completely disregarded the fact that his State Department still has key unfulfilled jobs, while telling Ingraham that he “is the only one that matters” anyway.
Trump states:
“Let me tell you ― the one that matters is me. I’m the only one that matters because when it comes to it, that’s what the policy is going to be.”
Trump further discussed his relationship with Secretary Of State Rex Tillerson, in which he says Tillerson has been working hard and diligently. Immediately after, Ingraham prompted the question of whether or not he believes Tillerson will stay for the remainder of his duration.
Trump said he was unsure whether his top diplomat would remain in his post and mentioned that he was “not happy” that some State Department staff were not supporting his agenda.

As Trump departs for his 12-day trip to Asia, where he will pay a visit to Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam and the Philippines following a brief stop in Hawaii, it will be interesting to see what kind of mess he will stir up with these countries. While previewing the trip last week, Trump issued a warning to Japan about the North Korean nuclear threat. That alone should be a glimpse of how this visit will go.
