It has just been reported that Donald Trump is sending messages to special counsel Robert Mueller. And it’s definitely NOT what you think it would be about.
According to USA Today, through his lawyer, Trump has sent ‘appreciation’ messages to Mueller. The President’s chief counsel John Dowd verified this with USA Today on Tuesday saying,
“He appreciates what Bob Mueller is doing. He asked me to share that with him and that’s what I’ve done.”
This is very confusing and it contradicts Trump’s earlier ‘witch hunt’ claims about this Russia investigation being conducted by Mueller.
While Dowd declined to elaborate more on the ‘secret messages’ he did say,
He asked me to share that with him and that’s what I’ve done.
It sounds like Trump is either in trying to kiss Mueller’s behind because he has found something that incriminating, or he maybe is trying to get special counsel caught up in some ‘conflict of interest’ scandal. Either way, it isn’t going to work. Mueller’s team declined to comment, but as USA Today reported, there are no rules that would prevent a president from passing along messages to the special counsel through an attorney.
What we do know is that Mueller must be doing something right. Especially for Trump to go from those hateful tweets to send sweet nothings. Sounds like Trump’s getting scared because Mueller, the lie detector, is closing in!
