Poor Senator Ted Cruz. He’s trying to move on from Monday night’s fallout that saw him like a very particular kind of Reality Kings porn video on Twitter (we won’t say what kind).
Immediately after the like was made from his official Twitter account, it was unliked. But, that wasn’t until after the entire world already saw what he did. Ted Cruz offered a very weird explanation of the matter, saying only that it was being ‘handled internally’ when he was asked if he was the one who did it or not. That’s not exactly a straightforward response.
Now – after a few days have passed – Senator Cruz is trying to move on to things like tax policy. Yet, he’s still not able to escape the wrath of the publicity he received for watching porn and then trying to cover it up.
Can you blame everyone? This is going to haunt Cruz for a very long time.
Cruz listed seven things that he and fellow Republicans are trying to accomplish for the tax code:
- Create a low, flat rate.
- File taxes on a postcard.
- All immediate expensing.
- Lower the corporate rate.
- Encourage repatriation.
- End the death tax.
- End the alternative minimum tax.
The full extent of the plan has yet to be released, but this is the basic cookie cutter layout. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan even admitted that giving tax cuts to the rich would potentially cut government revenue, but stressed pro-growth reform.
Nevermind their tax plan. Here is the only thing people cared about when Cruz made his comments. His job just got much harder.
