Billionaire Launches Ad Campaign To Impeach Trump; Trump Finds Out And Loses It On Twitter

Tom Steyer, a hedge fund manager who’s become an environmental billionaire, has put up $10 million to launch a viral ad campaign making a compelling case for the impeachment of Pres. Donald Trump. The one-minute ad details specific charges which Steyer feels warrant Trump’s removal from office. These charges include:

  • Obstruction of Justice.
  • Bringing America to the brink of nuclear war.
  • Accepting money and support from foreign governments.
  • Threatening to shut down the free press for reporting the truth.

Let’s take a quick look at these charges.

Obstruction of justice

It’s pretty clear that Trump obstructed justice when he fired former FBI Director James Comey, and confessed on NBC that the reason he did it was due to Comey’s failure to have “loyalty” and failure to squash the Russian investigation.

Bringing America to the brink of nuclear war

Trump’s Twitter antics and saber-rattling at North Korea continues to endanger the lives of millions in the Pacific region and inches America closer to an unnecessary nuclear conflict.

Accepting money and support from foreign governments

While Trump and his campaign’s relationship with the Russian government are currently under investigation both legally and politically, he also has incredibly tangled business interests that seem to be doing business with foreign agents hoping to influence U.S. policy. However, Trump’s handpicked Department of Justice argued back in June that this practice is A-Okay in their book.

“Historical evidence confirms that the Emoluments Clauses were not designed to reach commercial transactions that a President (or other federal official) may engage in as an ordinary citizen through his business enterprises,” the Justice Department argued in a motion to dismiss a case first brought by watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington in January, three days after Trump’s inauguration. “At the time of the Nation’s founding, government officials were not given generous compensations, and many federal officials were employed with the understanding that they would continue to have income from private pursuits.”

Threatening to shut down the free press for reporting the truth

And finally, there’s Trump’s war on the free press, which he regularly labels “fake news.” Earlier this month, many believe that Trump had finally crossed the line when he flat-out threatened to pull NBC’s broadcasting license over a report that made him look bad.

It appears that prominent concerned citizens like Steyer have finally had enough and are now putting severe pressure on Congress to pursue impeachment against Trump.

Apparently, while watching Fox and Friends, Trump was so outraged by the ad that he put down his morning 20-piece KFC morning breakfast, got his greasy little fingers on his phone, and started tweeting:

And, unlike his breakfast choice, we are fairly certain Trump was watching Fox and Friends because he tweeted praise for his favorite group of ass-kissers only a minute after attacking Steyer. There’s also the fact that the billionaire environmentalist’s commercial had just run a few minutes prior to Trump’s tweet during the Fox and Friend’s commercial break.

Ironically, it now seems that Trump’s thin skin may drive more people to sign the petition. Of course, Steyer and his people probably knew that, which is why they chose an early morning spot on Fox News.

Well played Mr. Steyer, well played indeed.
