WTF?! Recent Poll Says Fox News Is America’s Most Trusted Network (VIDEOS)

According to a recent Quinnipiac University poll, Fox news has the most trusted network and cable news in the United States. Are you kidding me America, Faux News?!

Politico reports:

“In comparison rankings, 29 percent responded that they trust Fox News the most. CNN follows with 22 percent, CBS News and NBC News are at 10 percent, ABC News at 8 percent and MSNBC at 7 percent.”

Fox News was the top pick among Republicans with 58% of the vote (shocker), and CNN was the most trusted network among Democrats with 32% of the vote.Unfortunately, this is not the first time a poll found Fox News has the most trusted network, Addicting Info reported: “the network has taken the top spot for five years running in PPP’s annual media survey.

Before we go any further with the poll numbers, let’s look back on some memorable Fox News moments that we love and trust.

In regards to Hawaii’s debt crisis, remember when Bill O’Reilly said that Asians aren’t liberal because they’re “hardworking?

Or when E.D. Hill opened a discussion by asking if Barack and Michelle Obama’s fist bump after the 2008 Democratic primaries was a “a terrorist fist jab.”

And let’s not forget the infamous Fox and Friends host, Gretchen Carlson, who said that the hit Nickelodeon show Spongebob Squarepants “is pushing a global warming agenda.”

So how could a news network with such insane claims be the most trusted for yet another year?

According to PPP’s annual poll:

“It [Fox News] leads the way because of its continuing near total support among Republicans as the place to go for news- 69% of Republicans say it’s their most trusted source with nothing else polling above 7%.”

Meanwhile, liberals are split between different news networks when it comes to who they trust the most with PBS at 21%, CNN and ABC at 18%, and CBS and MSNBC at 12%. So based on these numbers, America is not only split in the political world, but split in the type of media they use to get their news. because Republicans will only support Fox News as their go-to news network and Democrats support mainly liberal news. No one wants to escape the status quo, therefore these polls will continue to favor Fox News.

These poll numbers come in the midst of scandal for both Bill O’Reilly at O’ Reilly Factor and Brian Williams at NBC. The poll states that 42% of registered voters think NBC should allow Brian Williams to anchor “NBC Nightly News,” despite his suspension for his false Iraq tales. America is still on the fence on Bill O’ Reilly’s continuing with Fox News after his exaggerating war reports. Politcio says:

“With Bill O’Reilly, 51 percent responded that they haven’t heard enough to say whether he should be fired, suspended or allowed to continued with Fox News.”

I think it’s safe to say that we all have heard enough of Bill O’Reilly and the entire Faux News network.

Safe to say? 12 % say they want him fired. So no they did not say they have had enough of him. Sorry

  • Linda Pacheco

they polled 1286 out of 142 million registered voters…I’m not impressed

  • SoSezYou

Sure it would be the most trusted , if you only asked Fox Viewers

    • Kenny Robinson IV

it also polled at 25% amongst independents, the highest, by the way. it also pollled MSNBC viewers, but i think we all know how that turned out

      • SoSezYou

Still in insufficient numbers to PROVE anything. Again, anyone who takes a poll and starts building a boat will be sitting at the bottom soon enough.

        • Kenny Robinson IV

okay i agree, just pointing out that they clearly didn’t only interview fox viewers, as you originally claim.

          • SoSezYou

But essentially like my comment above, they really only DID poll Fox Viewers. Using the same logic of poor voter turnout. Also, it should be mentioned that the influx of Independent numbers comes from Republicans seeking refuge from the embarrassment of the Tea Party and who aren’t gusty enough to go for the fictional Libertarian party. Polling groups tend to separate democrats, republicans and independents when they gather their numbers. The Independents are essentially Republicans and still go conservative on issues so the polls are skewed conservative because people who vote Republican are 2/3rds represented in the people they do manage to find.

          • Kenny Robinson IV

alright i’d like to see some numbers and cross tabs on how many people are independents because of the “tea party” and who are afraid to go “libertarian”. that argument doesn’t really hold up, in my view. I know we won’t agree on that. if they only polled fox news viewers where did the percentages of MSNBC and the like come from? fictional people? i know the numbers are super low there, but i think that’s more the fault of MSNBC and the like than anything else.

i’m not here to argue for Fox, i’m conservative and rarely watch it or any other news program on TV.

  • Lee Rowan

Who was polled? Who sponsored the poll? What were they smoking at the time?

  • Kenny Robinson IV

why didn’t the author of this article point out that Fox News is the most trusted news site amongst independents at 25%?

    • http://theauntiewarhol.wordpress.com/ Auntie Warhol

Because “independent” is just code for “too ashamed to admit to being Republican”.

      • Kenny Robinson IV

oh so the author decides he’s taking off his fake part-time journalist hat to omit facts? sounds like spin to me.

and that’s okay, auntie, denial is the first step. i wonder where all their votes went this past election. still salty?

        • http://theauntiewarhol.wordpress.com/ Auntie Warhol

It’s ok, you can admit that you don’t understand our election cycles.

          • Kenny Robinson IV

please explain to me how i don’t? i thought you were the big reader and so much smarter than us non libs? can you explain what happened in the last election to me, auntie?

          • SoSezYou

Do some investigation into voter turnout and get back to us.

          • Kenny Robinson IV

that is one of the most played out and tired political arguments i hear…is it the fault of conservatives across the country for showing up to the polls and voting out *how many* democrats? is it conservatives’ fault that liberals and dems that you all sat at home and didn’t vote on the future of the country? come back with something better

          • SoSezYou

It explains why Fox News and its viewers think they are kings of the world after midterms. Polling is the same if only some people answer. If normal people couldn’t be bothered about a midterm why would you expect them to answer a poll?

Like I said, do some research if you need to understand what you are commenting about.

          • Kenny Robinson IV

again, who is it the fault of for “not being bothered” about voting about the future of the country? can you answer that question? don’t come here and argue turn out, that is the fault of the dems. and btw, i do this type of research for a living. i think i know it by now. and this is why my side won in 2014, and won big. sorry for getting off the couch and voting! :)

          • http://theauntiewarhol.wordpress.com/ Auntie Warhol

It ain’t hard. All the seats Dems lost were red state seats they only held in the first place because people rode in on Obama’s wave. Dems needed to work very hard to save those seats and they didn’t do it. They lost because they suck, not because anyone liked your guys either.

          • Kenny Robinson IV

wow did you get all of that obvious information on election cycles from all that reading that makes you more intelligent than i, the non lib? thank god i’m now schooled on the election cycle that i actually worked on.

          • TigerFan

Historically, both parties have suffered heavy losses in the last mid-terms of a two-term incumbent. It is just how it goes, unless life happens to be peaches and unicorns right at that moment.
The Dems were counting on the mountain of fk-ups from the Right to carry the elections, and didn’t do the work required to overcome that historical precedent.

          • Kenny Robinson IV

i know tigerfan. i think this is the most commonly held knowledge of mid term elections dating back until…forever. i worked on the midterms, i know this. this was originally supposed to be about how the author of this story left out objective facts in order to *try* to make a point, in which auntie came up with some nonsense that danced around the question.

          • TigerFan

            Ah, gotcha.
I was just literally answering your last question. It is frightening how few people watch elections closely enough to see trends that are a century old.
I don’t personally trust anything from Fox, but I don’t trust anything I hear fro any source that I can’t verify from a completely unrelated source. I have seen blogs/news sites (insert eyeroll) who’s only references were previous blogs they had written, or blogs from the same site.
That is why I like European news organizations. They tell you right up front whether they lean left or right, so you can filter what you hear without question.

          • Kenny Robinson IV

yeah no you’re right, sorry if it seemed like i was jumping on you. you’re completely right!

  • Kenny Robinson IV

also guys, this is a hilarious sequel to the “fox news viewers think its the most trusted news because of ratings” article. seriously. it couldn’t get any better.

  • JanMutcher

If this IS true, and I doubt it is, then the mainstream media isn’t doing enough to call out the falsehoods that Fox news is telling. After all, it reflects poorly on you to have people, no matter how unfortunate and uneducated have Fox news as their go to for “reliable” information. You would think it would be an insult to your personal pride in your work.

    • Ernesto Bloberg

The problem is that you can show them the data but they refuse to listen, they are brain washed well the little brains that they have.

  • TigerFan

Trusted and truthful are too completely different concepts.
Lots of people “trusted” Bernie Madoff.
