So, here’s the mental image you never wanted: Buzzfeed News is reporting today that Donald Trump made a surprise appearance in a rather explicit 2000 Playboy video.
Thankfully, it’s not in the way that guest appearances in this videos usually are. I wouldn’t normally consider this worth reporting, except two things make this relevant: the religious right and Trump’s recent attack on Alicia Machado for a her “sex video.”
BuzzFeed obtained the footage from an online-only Buffalo, New York-based adult video store called Cinema Cornucopia. While the majority of the video involves nude women dancing, sensual touching, and honey, Trump appears in a relatively small part of it centered in New York City.
Trump’s role is fairly benign and focused on him breaking a bottle of champagne on a Playboy-branded limo while several playmates are visiting New York City. Other parts of the video, however, are less . . . let’s call them “family friendly.”
I use that phrasing because one word in specific, “family,” should be one that the religious right recognizes. They’ve spent the last fifty years decrying the “moral decay of America,” because God forbid two (or more) adults film themselves having sex and enjoy doing so, only to turn around and vote for someone who made an appearance in a Playboy video in the name of “family.”
Actually, it’s in the name of politics and nothing else, since Political Christianity and hookworms share the same moral system. But I shouldn’t have to point this out now.
If you get the impression I think the religious right in specific, and right-wing Christianity in general, is the moral and ethical equal to a garbage fire, you’re not far off.
The back of the VHS box reads:
“From luxuriating in a warm, soapy tub, to reveling at an exclusive night club, Carol and Darlene bare their sex appeal and lead you on a sensual journey of discovery.”
On a bus tour hunt for the 2000 Playmate of the Year, the Playmates caught up with Trump while in New York City. Trump cracks open a bottle of champagne, and then pours it on the Playboy bunny logo, saying:
“Beauty is beauty, and let’s see what happens with New York.”
I don’t know what wound up happening with New York City, but I do know why the context today makes this revelation especially disgusting: Trump recently went on a Twitter posting spree slut-shaming former Miss Universe Alicia Machado accusing her of having a sex tape.
Some of Trump’s lunatic supporters have gone so far as to call it “the New Benghazi.” Given there wasn’t anything to the old Benghazi, and right-wing conspiracy theories about her appearing in other adult videos are already cropping up despite a lack of evidence, I’m inclined to agree.
Of course, Trump will likely be given a pass. I mean, it’s every 15-year-old boy’s dream to be among the Playmates, right? And since that’s who Trump appeals to, they’ll probably just give him a pat on the shoulder. The rest of us, however, should make note that this is just yet more evidence everything about the right-wing is based in hypocrisy, including their crowned savior and king, Spray-tan Hitler.
