I realize epic and Harry Reid are often never uttered in the same sentence, but the otherwise milquetoast Senator earned it. Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid ripped Majority Leader Mitch McConnell by linking McConnell’s support of Trump as the death knell for the Republican Party.
Here was Reid really giving it to McConnell:
Let’s talk about Trump and women. When they get together, they can talk about their policies about being anti-woman. Since Sen. McConnell has so enthusiastically embraced Trump, we can only assume he agrees with Trump’s view that women are dogs and pigs. We can only assume that the Republican Leader is not repulsed by Donald Trump’s vulgar behavior towards women. Look at his New York Times story yesterday on his cavorting with Howard Stern and how they talked about women. After all, the Republican Party has spent years blocking every substantive bill for American women. Equal pay for equal work. The Senator has tried to undermine women’s health at every turn. Trying to turn Planned Parenthood into a punching bag, even though millions and millions of women have been helped by Planned Parenthood.
Reid would then go on to say that one can only assume that McConnell agreed with Trump, considering his recent embrace of him as the Republican nominee. Whether they wish to admit it or not, Republicans created the five-alarm dumpster fire that is Donald Trump. Much like with Hillary and Bill, it will have to become a marriage of convenience.
It will become the job of the Democrats to spend every day reminding every voter in the country that Trump’s positions didn’t just appear out of thin air (or is it hair?). Rather, it’s a party that has gone full-blown bat sh*t the second it decided to embrace the psycho babbling, snow-grifter Sarah Palin.
Mitch McConnell has done his best to support Trump from a distance, but those days are coming to an abrupt end.
