If people thought Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) was Donald Trump’s puppy dog who agreed with everything that’s been said or done, think again. Sure, Ryan is agreeing with budget proposals and the health care repeal, but he’s been touting everything within those for years.
When it comes to what Ryan thinks of how Trump has handled former FBI Director James Comey, that’s a whole different story.
While being interviewed at the Axios News Shapers event, Ryan was asked if he agrees with Trump that Comey is a “nut job.” And if he agrees it eased pressure on the Russia investigation.
Ryan replied:
“Yeah, I don’t agree with that… And he’s not.”
Adding:
“I like Jim Comey.”
Ryan then went on to avoid the topic of Russia by slipping away from the conversation saying that the proper investigations are taking place.

Got to give some credit for brilliant political maneuvering there to get out of a pickle of a question. However, this still doesn’t negate the fact that Ryan openly admitted to disagreeing with Trump about Comey and in turn also agrees Russian investigations need to take place.
Trump probably isn’t going to like any of that. Good.
