20 Anti-LGBT Quotes That Led To The Orlando Massacre And 6 More That Will Lead To The Next One

Before we even knew how many people had died, much less why, at an Orlando nightclub that catered to the LGBT community, Republicans and the conservative media were already screaming about more guns and radical Islam. Once we found out that death toll was 49, making this the largest mass shooting in American history, the screaming from the right ratcheted up to 11 like they were nervous about something.

Specifically, like they were nervous that people would draw a direct link between the nonstop anti-LGBT hate speech masquerading as political rhetoric and the slaughter of 49 people enjoying themselves in a gay nightclub. The reality is that the political movement of “personal responsibility” is trying everything possible to avoid taking responsibility for what they’ve done.

They created a toxic atmosphere in which the LGBT community is wicked, evil and diseased. They fanned the flames of LGBT hate so high that someone took it upon themselves to try to wipe them out. That the killer seems to have been gay himself only makes it more tragic. Instead of being able to accept himself for who he was, he was consumed with self-loathing and a rage that could only be soothed by killing the object of his hate: Homosexuals.

Here is just a tiny fraction of the hate spewed by the American right wing that lit the fuse of the killer. Every one of these people should be held accountable for what they wrought. The blood of 49 young people is on their hands and their souls will be forever stained with evil:

  1. “One of the many evils this world has to offer is the sin of homosexuality. Satan, the enemy is using people to further his agenda to destroy the Kingdom of God and as many souls as he can.” – Alan Chambers, Executive Director, Exodus North America
  2. “Any of you who have members of your family in the lifestyle, we have a member of our family that is [lesbian]. This is not funny. It’s a very sad life. It’s part of Satan, I think, to say that this is gay.” – Michelle Bachmann (R-Minn)
  3.  “This is a very serious matter, because it is our children who are the prize for this community, they are specifically targeting our children.” – Michelle Bachmann (R-Minn)
  4.  “The court-ordered redefinition of marriage in several states … is an assault on the foundations of our society, challenging the institution which, for thousands of years in virtually every civilization, has been entrusted with the rearing of children and the transmission of cultural values.” – Marsha Blackburn (R-TN)
  5.  “In every society, the definition of marriage has not ever to my knowledge included homosexuality. That’s not to pick on homosexuality. It’s not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be. It is one thing.” – Rick Santorum
  6. “And I know their people say, well, ‘It’s unfair to associate homosexuality with pedophilia or some of these other previsions.’ But I believe that there is a direct connection, because what they really want is absolute sexual freedom.” – E.W. Jackson
  7. “I believe the gay community is a good group of people but with groups like NAMBLA [a pedophile group] riding on their coattails.” – Alan Chambers, Executive Director, Exodus North America
  8. “Now this Ebola epidemic can become a global pandemic and that’s another name for plague. It may be the great attitude adjustment that I believe is coming,” he said. “Ebola could solve America’s problems with atheism, homosexuality, sexual promiscuity, pornography and abortion.” – Rick Wiles
  9. “Marriage is between a man and a woman. It’s a well-established, fundamental pillar of society and no group, be they gays, be they NAMBLA, be they people who believe in bestiality — it doesn’t matter what they are, they don’t get to change the definition.” – Ben Carson
  10. “The court-ordered redefinition of marriage in several states … is an assault on the foundations of our society, challenging the institution which, for thousands of years in virtually every civilization, has been entrusted with the rearing of children and the transmission of cultural values.” – Marsha Blackburn (R-TN)
  11. “AIDS comes from the devil, directly from Satan. He uses homosexuals as pawns and then he kills them.” – Anthony Falzarano, Founder, Parents and Friends Ministries
  12. “Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men” – Phil Robertson
  13. “Ensuring marriage is strictly between a man and a woman sends a positive message to our children about the sanctity of marriage and emphasizes the importance of a stable family environment as the bedrock of our society.” – Ralph Hall (R-TX)
  14. “Look, it also attempts to poison our children, divide them from their parents and the teaching of the church and basically turn them into pawns for that movement so that they can sexualize them at the earliest possible age. It really is insidious and I agree with you, it is a super sin.” – E.W. Jackson
  15. “Satan delights in homosexual perversion because it not only exists outside of marriage, but it also defiles God’ very image reflected as male and female.” – Andrew Comisky, Founder of Desert Stream
  16. “It not only is a complete undermining of the principles of family and marriage and the hope of future generations, but it completely begins to see our society break down to the extent that that foundational unit of the family that is the hope of survival of this country is diminished to the extent that it literally is a threat to the nation’s survival in the long run.” – Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ)
  17. “This is an earthquake issue. This will change our state forever. Because the immediate consequence, if gay marriage goes through, is that K-12 little children will be forced to learn that homosexuality is normal, natural, and perhaps they should try it.” – Michele Bachmann (R-Minn)
  18. Their minds are perverted, they’re frankly very sick people psychologically, mentally and emotionally and they see everything through the lens of homosexuality. When they talk about love they’re not talking about love, they’re talking about homosexual sex. So they can’t see clearly. – E.W. Jackson
  19. “Homosexuality is a psychological and psychiatric disorder, there is no question about it. It is a purple menace that is threatening the proper design of gender distinctions in society.” – Dr. Charles Socarides, Former NARTH President
  20. “The Pink Swastika will show that there was far more brutality, torture and murder committed against innocent people by Nazi deviants and homosexuals than there ever was against homosexuals.” – Kevin Abrams and Scott Lively, Authors, The Pink Swastika

And here are the quotes that will be responsible for the next anti-LGBT hate crime. All of these were in response to the Orlando massacre:

  1. “God has been crying out to this nation: Either voluntarily humble yourselves to your knees and call upon me to protect your or continue in your rebellion and be brought to your knees by your enemies. But either way, America, you’re going to your knees. I’ve said for years, America, if you continue to reject the mercy of the cross, you will live by the tyranny of the sword, and that’s what’s happening right now.” – Rick Wiles
  2. “It’s worth considering that homosexuals, lesbians, bisexuals and transsexuals might be safer returning to the closet. Flaunting gross immorality and defiant wickedness that is hideous, odious and wretched to an overwhelming majority of people is a foolish and dangerous course of action.” – Timothy Buchanan
  3. “The sodomites who were killed in this club were not innocent people. They were not good people. They were not people who were just victims who we should just feel sorry for. It was scum killing scum.” – Theodore Shoebat
  4. “The left is having a dilemma of major proportions and I think for those of us who disagree with some of their policies, the best thing to do is to sit on the sidelines and let them (gays and Muslim extremists) kill themselves” – Pat Robertson
  5. “These homosexuals are a bunch of perverts and pedophiles, that’s who was a victim here, a bunch of disgusting homosexuals at a gay bar,” he said. He later added: “The good news is that at least 50 of these pedophiles are not going to be harming children anymore. The bad news is that a lot of the homos in the bar are still alive, so they’re going to continue to molest children and recruit people into their filthy homosexual lifestyle.” – Steven Anderson
  6. “The only ones moaning over fifty gays slaughtered are liberals, idiots and gay lovers.” – Walid Shoebat

The First Amendment protects our free speech but it doesn’t mean we can incite violence. Sooner or later we’re going to have to decide as a society how much of this hate we’re going to allow to poison our discourse. Until then, don’t be surprised as anti-LGBT hate crimes continue to rise.
