Conservative televangelist, Rick Joyner, has a “mathematically” sound theory he desperately wants to share with the world. Appearing on The Jim Bakker Show, Joyner has traced the genealogies in scripture and concluded that the earth is around 6,000 years old. Of course, give or take a few 100 years as is the normal with sound mathematical theory.
In a video provided by Right Wing Watch, Joyner explains that we will soon be facing end times. “We’ve been on earth since Adam about 6,000 years. And that’s six prophetic days. Peter said, “a day with the Lord is a thousand years”. The church fathers would be clear that there would be 6,000 years until the end of this age. Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath which is the seventh prophetic day”
The math checks out. Except it doesn’t, sorry. The video, which could easily be mistaken for satire, displays the sad reality of how backward religious fundamentalism really is.
