A little girl named Isabella went up to a guy playing the character Gaston at Disneyworld, just outside of their Fantasy land area of the park, and asked him to sign her Beauty and the Beast book. What happened after that turned into quite the dialogue between the two.
The conversation starts off innocently enough with Gaston declaring that:
I am the most handsome man in town and Belle is marrying me.
Isabella quickly retorts:
No. No. No. The Beast (her favorite character in the film) is marrying Belle.
Gaston is a male chauvinist in the movie Beauty and the Beast, and this Disney actor plays this side of the character perhaps a bit too well when he says:
I don’t know where this girl came from, but someone needs to put her back in the kitchen right now!
He does not stop there. When the little girl goes to take a picture with him he says:
Go ahead and smile like you’re making me a sandwich.
They had a few words back and forth, and the sexist comments continue:
Go do what you’re meant to do in life. No more thinking for you, you’ve already done enough of that.
While they had a very cute and memorable exchange, these comments to the wrong person could have turned ugly.
Isabella, for her part, handles the bullying and clearly sexist comments of Gaston very well. She does a terrific job standing her ground:
The Beast is going to fight you, and win!
After the little girl walks off Gaston ends by saying:
I’ve been outdone by a girl. A short one.
It must be mentioned that Gaston is very funny, however.
One thing is for sure: This girl is a star!
