Gay Couple’s Note To Coward Who Scratched ‘F*ggots’ On Their Door Is Beyond Fabulous (IMAGES)

The year end holidays are supposed to be a time of “peace on earth, goodwill towards men.” Sadly, not everyone can set aside their prejudice and hatred, even for a few days. Such was the case in England, where vandals scratched the word “faggots” onto the apartment door of a gay couple.

Rather than let their holidays be ruined by the prejudice and intolerance of the vandal, the “Gays in apartment 611,” as they are now being referred to on the internet, offered an epic comeback. The comeback has been shared on Imgur, where it has become something of a hit.

The couple repaired their door, then left the vandal an awesome note. Rather than respond to the hatred expressed by the perpetrator, the couple offered a critique of his, or her, “work.” The note reads:

To the individual who scrawled the word ‘faggots’’ into our door: We regret to inform you that you completely failed to use glitter paint and/or sequins, your work looked rushed, and your handwriting was positively atrocious.

It is for these reasons that we had to remove your work from our door with sandpaper.

Some of the comments on Imgur about the incident are almost as fabulous as the note the couple left.

“MakingUpAUserNameIsTerrifying” channels a popular carol:

“RyanGoesToSchool” disagrees with the couple’s critique of the vandal’s work.

But self identified “straight man,” “LichJesus,” agrees with the couple’s assessment.

“IDon’tCareIfIt’sPhotoshoppedIfItMakesMeLAWL” makes perhaps the most astute observation.

Some who call themselves “Christians” like to claim that homosexuality is counter to the teachings of Jesus (although Jesus never mentioned one word about it). But, by turning a hateful act into a humorous situation, and by refusing to let it ruin their holidays, what these two men did was a perfect example of Jesus’ instructions to “turn the other cheek.”

When we answer hatred with good, or with humor, the whole world wins.
