The recent mass shooting that took place in San Bernadino, California took the lives of fourteen people while injuring almost twenty. There have been more mass shootings in 2015 than days that have passed this year. Yup, that averages to more that one a day so far, yet this is still not horrendous enough for Republicans to admit that we have a serious gun problem in America. While the Democratic Party has been pushing for universal background checks to make it harder for guns to wind up in the wrong hands, the GOP has constantly made attempts to block it.
President Obama is right, “this isn’t normal.” Why is this staggering amount of senseless violence not enough to make you reconsider your stance on gun control. When is enough enough?
America has some serious ammosexuality going on.
America’s obsession with guns is ridiculous. The amount of violence and deaths at the hands of guns in America has other countries laughing at our inability to stop it. Even Australian comedian Jim Jefferies takes a few jabs at us.
In Australia, we had the biggest massacre on Earth, and the Australian government went: ‘That’s it! NO MORE GUNS.’ And we all went, ‘Yeah, all right then, that seems fair enough, really.’
Now in America, you had the Sandy Hook massacre, where little tiny children died. And your government went, ‘Maybe … we’ll get rid of the big guns?’ And 50 percent of you went, ‘FUCK YOU, DON’T TAKE MY GUNS.’
If seeing the mass shootings unfold on live t.v., or plastered all over the media hasn’t made you see the light, maybe this comedian’s take on America’s fascination with guns will. Because he’s got a f*cking point people!
