According to Michigan authorities, they now have 45-year-old Jason Dalton in custody and he is believed to be the gunman responsible for the shooting death of six people in Kalamazoo, Michigan on Saturday. The shooting spree took place at night and is believed to be a series of random shootings.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety posted about Saturday night’s events on their Facebook page. They stated that six people had been shot and killed while several others were seriously wounded in three separate shootings in Kalamazoo County.
It appears that the first incident occurred at an apartment complex where a woman was shot several times, leaving her in critical condition. Within hours, another shooting at a car dealership left two dead and one wounded. In what is believed to be the third and last shooting, four people were killed in a Cracker Barrel parking lot after the gunman opened fire on people in their cars.
Early Sunday morning, WWMT television cited Kalamazoo Public Safety Chief Jeff Hadley on their website when posting a “strong suspect” was now in custody.
So far they have no motive for the shooting spree, just another senseless act of gun violence that may have been prevented with stronger gun laws. But, you know…we don’t have a gun problem in this country.
