The Pasco County, Florida Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help identifying a boy who may be planning a school shooting this Friday.
The boy’s picture appeared on the PSO’s Facebook page along with this message:
The pictured subject is a person of interest for issuing a threat and we are attempting to identify the individual. If you know of his identity or have further information, please contact the Pasco Sheriff’s Office tipline and/or submit a tip via the Submit Tip button on the Pasco Sheriff’s Office website. Thank you for your help!
WFLA.com has reported that the message was originally accompanied by the boy’s threat, but it has since been removed, presumably to avoid panic.
The Pasco School district told WFLA that a robocall was sent to parents and students of Land O’ Lakes High School around 3PM Wednesday afternoon:
“Hello. This is Mr. Batchelor calling from Land O’ Lakes High School. We want parents to know that we are investigating a threat made against a Land O’ Lakes High School. We have not confirmed that it’s even directed at our school.
The threat indicates that someone may be planning a violent act on Friday, so we are working with the Pasco Sheriff’s Office to identify the source of the threat.
We do have a photo of a possible suspect that we are working to identify. The sheriff’s office has posted it on their Facebook page, which has proven successful in generating tips that result in arrests.
Feel free to visit the sheriff’s Facebook page to view the photo, and contact the sheriff’s office if you recognize the face.
The safety of our students is of utmost importance. We will have requested a heightened law enforcement presence.
Please rest assured that we are doing everything we can to resolve this issue before Friday, and we will keep parents informed of our progress and plan of action. Thank you.”
