WTF?! Deranged Man With Radical Islamic Leanings Attacks NYPD Officers With Hatchet (VIDEO)

I truly miss the days when I would just wake up to a hangover. Now it’s ‪#‎ISIS‬, ‪#‎EBOLA‬, gun shootings, and whatever the hell our Congress does. And now-a freaking lunatic wielding a hatchet in broad daylight.

While CNN was crapping itself over the case of Ebola in NY and pretending to be more ‘New York’ than the other news anchors, man, identified as Zale Thompson, attacked four rookie officers with a hatchet in Queens in broad daylight. One of the NYPD rookie’s was hit in the head and remained in critical condition, and another police office remains in stable condition, according to NBC. Luckily the lunatic was shot dead by the two other officers and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The suspect “charged at the officers with a hatchet in his hand,” Bratton said. “Unprovoked and not speaking a word, the male then swung at one of the officers with a hatchet, striking his right arm. After striking that officer, the suspect continuing swinging the hatchet, striking a second officer in the head.”

 

Police in New York were originally investigating whether Thompson had any ties to Islamic extremists, such as ISIS, and if it was related to the ISIS-inspired attack on a Canadian solider in Ottawa. It turns out that the attack in Ottawa could’ve been averted. While the country is very upset with our growing militarized police state, the likelihood of an average individual performing such a savage act is incredibly low.

But police are now definitively saying that the act was one inspired by radical Islam, especially after a group known as SITE earlier reported that Thompson had posted statements on YouTube and Facebook that “displayed a hyper-racial focus in both religious and historical contexts, and ultimately hint at his extremist leanings”.

New York City police Commissioner William Bratton confirmed that the hatchet act on the four rookie officers was indeed an “act of terrorism,” but that Thompson was most likely “self-radicalized”. In other words, Thompson was too freaking insane to be connected to ISIS. Now authorities are trying to find out if the attack was planned and if Thompson had any history of mental illness. Not to infringe on the investigation, but most people with the blues don;t tend to go all Apocalypse Now on armed police officers in broad daylight.
