‘Family Values’ Republican Goes Berserk, Gets Arrested For Domestic Violence (SCREENSHOTS/AUDIO)

If being an insufferable douche cannon were a crime, Todd Kincannon would be serving a life sentence.

Instead, Kincannon was arrested on criminal domestic violence (DV) charges in connection with an incident in late March, in which he physically and verbally threatened his wife.

Kincannon claims he has no memory of the incident because he had overdosed on a drug called Benzonatate and that he lost control of his arms, brain and personality. A quick search online for overdose symptoms on the prescription cough medicine does not indicate that a loss of control is a common side effect.

The former executive director for the South Carolina Republican Party was booked into Lexington County jail on March 26 after he and his wife, Ashely Griffith, got into an argument while driving home from an event. Kincannon began yelling at Griffith, threatening her, speeding through traffic and would not stop the car so she could leave. She rolled down the windows of her car to yell for help at passing motorists.

Eventually, the right-wing a**hat pulled into a Chick-fil-A (go figure) and when Griffith tried exiting the vehicle he grabbed her arm to prevent her from leaving. According to the Charleston City Paper, Kincannon pulled her back into the vehicle and Griffith called 911 so they could hear what her husband was saying to her. When Kincannon saw a patrol vehicle, he ‘freaked’ out and threatened to run the car into a concrete barrier if the police got involved.

The officer reported that Kincannon said that the couple had gotten into an argument over Kincannon touching his wife’s leg at a work event. He denied that any physical altercation had taken place, and there was no evidence of such.

However, when the Sheriff’s deputy spoke to Kincannon’s wife, a more sinister story was revealed (the report refers to Todd as James):

Ashely continued to tell me after leaving the work function, James began screaming at Ashely while they drove in their car. Ashely told James to let her out of their car to which he refused. Ashely proceeded to roll down the window and scream for James to let her out, hoping a bystander would call 9-1-1.

Ashley continued to tell me she called her mother for help and attempted to call 9-1-1 with an open line in order for the dispatcher to hear James. While driving, James saw a police vehicle and ‘freaked out.’ James threatened he would drive the car into a concrete barrier if the cops became involved. In addition, James also threatened to kill himself if Ashely left. Ashely continued to tell me James has made several threats in the past to kill himself, her, and her family. Furthermore, Ashely said she has past incidents of domestic violence and threats of homicide/suicide recorded. I saw no visible injuries to Ashely, she provided me with a written statement, and was issued a victim’s pamphlet. It should be noted Ashely was trembling as she wrote her statement.

Kincannon is a lawyer and knows how to work the system. By claiming to have overdosed on medication, he’s trying to excuse any wrong doing on his part, but that doesn’t quite explain the history of threats of homicide and suicide.

Griffith has now changed her story after testifying in court, saying that she does not believe a crime was committed. Important to note, Kincannon was allowed contact with Griffith before his hearing. It’s very common for a woman to protect her abuser once she feels the danger is over, but as the deputy reported, this wasn’t the first time Kincannon has threatened Griffith.

An audio recording made by Griffith shows that she has been subjected to threats by her husband. Kincannon is a domineering, vengeful tyrant who vows he will get revenge and ruin her life if she doesn’t follow his instructions and do what she’s “supposed to f*cking do.”

In the recording, Kincannon can be heard telling Griffith that she will “be very f*cking sorry” if she leaves him.

An anti-Obama, family values obsessed Republican arrested for DV? Color me shocked!

While Kincannon’s marital problems are exacerbated by the fact that he believes in ‘traditional’ marriage where a wife is supposed to be subservient to her husband. However, anyone familiar with Kincannon knows he is a seemingly all around angry, sexist, and pathetic man who thinks he’s hilarious. He’s been in the news multiple times for his inhumane racist, homophobic, and sexist myopic world views and is known as a Twitter troll (his account is currently suspended) and he has long since deleted his Facebook page after being attacked mercilessly by left-wing trolls.

For example:

TK1 TK2 TK3 TK4 TK5 TK6 TK7 TK8

As you can see, he is King A**hole of Bullsh*t mountain. That’s the make-up of the right-wing for you.

Unfortunately, Kincannon was released on a $5,000 personal recognizance bail and the judge did not impose an order that would keep Kincannon away from his wife until his trial. The Lexington County police are taking their time to gather more evidence, possibly for a kidnapping charge, because they still have serious concerns for Griffith’s safety, despite her seeming lack of concern. The two are attending marital counseling to work on their communication.

OMFG…..THIS guy should be put down, honestly. What a waste of oxygen he is.

    • Gregory Hinton

      with extreme prejudice.

  • Aloanstar

He is disgusting….why is he even married? Who could stand being with him?

  • Doug Barr

“Work on their communication”? Seriously? She doesn’t need to communicate, she needs to GTFO before it’s too late.

But most likely she won’t. They will keep up a cat and mouse scenario of escalating behavior until one or both are dead. She knows she is in a bad relationship, most likely feels that ot either is “her fault” (as he most likely tells her), and/or knows he has a problem but thinks she can “love him better” (combination of religious, cultural, generational, and social expectations mixed with years of abuse, fear, and uncertainty). The arsenic sauce on top is being high profile. Which lowers the chances of her leaving, ups the chances that his threats will be materialized (resources, authority, power, connections, etc), and the whole media circus will just further reinforce her fears. Because there is nothing like angrily calling an abused woman stupid for a staying, to make sure she stays. It all sounds like the same thing.

So they go to therapy, she feels like there is a light at the end of the tunnel, he apologies and goes into honeymoon mode, he admits and begs for forgiveness, and things look better. For a couple months or so. Then he will lose his temper, unlike the severe thunderstorms she is used to, this will be a hurricane. Because in with his usual anger and his normal rage is the whole new festering wound of being publicly humiliated by her., typically there is a disconnect between consequences for actions (I hit her, therefore it is a consequence of my action to be punished and humiliated), and self (his self is seen as beyond reproach, his apologies and statements are simply learned behaviors in response to situations). She will most likely be hospitalized, if not dead, and may finally accept that he isn’t going to change. Or go back, thinking this time he surely must have put 2+2 together and figured out that he has a problem. He hasn’t, won’t, and never will.

she’s made her choice. on the bright side her decision to become collateral damage will finally get this douche nozzle thrown into jail and hopefully off of social media.

I see a murder-suicide in their future, sadly. I give it until June. Poor girl.

  • Michelle F. Becker

    that was totally disgusting.

This woman is in denial. She suffers from Battered Wife Syndrome. I fear she will end up dead. The courts are failing to protect her from him and herself.

He’s the type that would murder her and then BBQ the body parts…that’s a psycho

I’m repulsed in a way that I can’t properly convey. there are no words to describe the disgust I have after reading this article, hearing his “words”, and then reading his tweets. Social media needs to bar him from any future correspondence!

    • thinkbeforeyouspeak

I sat here in shock for a few minutes after reading those tweets. I’m utterly dismayed that a prominent member of an American political party can say those disgusting things in public and not be run out of office immediately.

  • Sven2547

There are two categories of Republicans:

Category 1 are racists. They will deny being racists, yet keep saying the sort of things like Kincannon says about Africans. They’re also prone to claiming things like “There is a white-genocide in America” and “anti-racist is code for anti-white”.

Category 2 are usually not racists. They fervently deny the existence of Category 1… and they feign surprise whenever an elected Republican spouts something racist, which is frequent.

    • thinkbeforeyouspeak

      And sexist. Very sexist.

  • Get_All_The_Facts

Classic manipulator and emotional abuser. Tells her she is nothing and berates her for her (reasonable) feelings of despair. Unfortunately, he has done his work so well that a large part of her believes him.

  • zonilo1 .

The GOP shows it’s true colors….

  • Patsy Floyd

Wonder if they found any drugs in his system to back up his pathetic story. This man is dangerous. He calmly tells her what he thinks and that calmness is what makes it even more life threatening.

  • MistressTime

His wife is an abused woman. He will make her sorry. He is going to hurt that woman. Guaranteed. He has a lot of power and she has none. He will make her pay. The fact that the Judge did not impose an order to keep him away from her. The judge should be taken off the bench. If anything happens to this woman, I hope her family has the sense to go after the judge and the police officers. He is the worst kind of male scum. An abusive man should not be allowed to represent the people of America. There should be some way to fire them. What a horrible person he is. If I could take a minute to reach out to someone who knows this woman or could help this woman, “She will not be strong enough to get away before it is too late. Please help her get her life back. Please help her leave that monster. Before it is too late.”

  • MistressTime

He is an abusive bigot who should be banned from being a civil servant. Better known these days as a politician. He is not fit to serve in the capacity he was elected. He is supposed to protect his family, not hurt them. There are many more qualified people to lead this country.

  • Matthew Johnson

He also had a previous Twitter account suspended, when he said transgender people should be put into concentration camps (after calling them “fascists” without a hint of irony). There’s no other way to put it, the man’s simply an awful human being.

  • Barbie

The man sounds sooooo reasonable as he proves he’s batshit crazy!

  • Kim Serrahn

Talk about a waste of skin.

  • Kevin Dailey

God, enough with the Chick-fil-A. Are people really holier than thou by going to KFC or Popeye’s?

  • Anna York

Poor girl. Who brainwashed this poor girl into thinking this is the best she can do? Sure, HE has, but who came before him to make her think this was ideal?

I just hope when he offs himself, he doesn’t take her with him.

  • Get_All_The_Facts

I’m happy to hear you got yourself out.
